Although Samsung still has to confirm the rumor that the Galaxy S10 lineup will be launched in San Francisco and London on February 20, the tech giant has just revealed the invites for a special Unpacked event that will take place in San Francisco on that day. By the looks of it, those who were waiting to see a big Galaxy S10 launch at the Mobile World Congress tech show in Barcelona will be disappointed. However, some of them might be able to catch the London launch event — if it turns out to be more than a rumor, of course.
Samsung's short announcement says that "On February 20, Samsung Electronics will unveil new devices that promise to usher in new Galaxy experiences based on 10 years of innovations." Obviously, those who will not be able to attend the San Francisco event can view it live on Samsung.com.
This would not be the first time when Samsung decides to skip MWC for the launch of a Galaxy S flagship since the company has already done so with the Galaxy S8 lineup. However, the Samsung Galaxy S9, as well as the Galaxy S7, were both introduced at the annual trade show that takes place in Barcelona.
According to quite a few recent rumors, the Galaxy S10 will launch with at least three variants — Lite, Plus, and regular — while a 5G model should arrive by the end of May. Finally, we might also see a foldable phone in its market-ready status during the aforementioned Unpacked event, but Samsung has not confirmed that yet.
