CES 2023 | The 2023 Asus TUF Gaming F15 and F17 arrive packing the Intel Core i9-13900H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics

Our last year's in-depth review of the Asus TUF Gaming F15 (FX507ZM) laptop has shown that the 140 W TGP target turned that machine into one of the fastest ones to use NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics. Back then, one Asus TUF Gaming F17 model packing the Intel Core i7-12700H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 inside arrived under our scope as well and delivered good gaming performance, but also proved to sport a poor display and slow WiFi.

The Asus TUF Gaming F15 and F17 feature a MUX Switch with NVIDIA Advanced Optimus support, two features that were introduced by Asus with the laptops unveiled this year at CES. The 140 W TGP with Dynamic Boost comes next to the improved cooling system that was also implemented in the A-series. This system is quieter than its predecessor and uses dual Arc Flow fans with an 84-blade design that promises to provide improved airflow without a proportional noise level increase. As a consequence, these laptops have a 13% higher airflow while being less noisy than the previous generation.

The highlights of the Asus TUF Gaming F15 and F17 include the following:

• Audio: 2 X 2 W speakers with Dolby Audio, HiRes Audio compliant, two-way AI noise cancelation
• Connectivity: WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI 2.1, RJ45 LAN, 3 X USB 3.2, USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 support with DP 1.4, 3.5 mm combo audio jack
• Battery: 90 Wh
• Weight/Dimensions: 4.85 lb and 13.97 X 9.92 X 0.88 - 0.96 inch (F15);                                                                        5.73 lb and 15.53 X 10.40 X 0.90 - 1 inch (F17)                   

As expected, both models will ship with Windows 11. For now, there is no information about the Windows 11 versions that will be preinstalled, but it is very likely to depend on the market/configuration in question.
