TP-Link has launched the new Tapo C615F Solar-Powered Floodlight Pan/Tilt Security Camera. Currently available in the US and on the way to Europe, this new smart camera is designed for outdoor use, with an IP65 weather resistance rating.
The Tapo C615F features a 2K 3MP camera, which can rotate up to 360° horizontally and 130° vertically. It offers color night vision, and can also intelligently detect humans, vehicles and pets, automatically panning to track the subject. Above the camera is an 800 lumen floodlight to illuminate your outdoor space. Both the brightness and the angle of the light can be adjusted, with the latter moving up to 240° horizontally and 10° vertically. Plus, the light can be activated by motion or manually.
TP-Link’s Tapo C615F also comes with an adjustable-angle solar panel; TP-Link suggests that 45 minutes of sunshine is enough to power the camera for 24 hours. There is a backup battery power source for up to 140 days of runtime. Another feature is sound and light alarms to deter intruders. To store footage, users can opt for local storage with an up to 512 GB microSD card or pay for a Tapo Care cloud subscription. Users can remotely manage the smart home device through the Tapo app or with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands.
