Enjoying YouTube videos without ads and gaining access to all the YouTube Originals content involves a YouTube Premium subscription, but paying US$11.99 per month might be a bit too much for the budget of many users, especially if they're students and still being financially backed by their parents. YouTube Music Premium provides a lighter experience that only includes ad-free music and costs US$9.99. Fortunately, US students can get both of them much cheaper thanks to the latest special plans introduced by Google.
The two aforementioned special plans have been introduced yesterday and are carrying the following price tags: US$4.99 for YouTube Music Premium and US$6.99 for YouTube Premium. However, it can get even better than that for the eligible ones, because the US students who sign up by the end of January 2019 can get YouTube Premium at the special price of US$5.99.
Although these deals should reach more countries in the future, the student plans for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium are only available in the US for now. To be eligible for these specials, a user must be a full-time student at an accredited college or university in the US. More details about grabbing a student membership can be found on this page.
