Twitter Blue now available in the US and New Zealand
Twitter continues the rollout of its premium subscription service with two markets, of which one is essential, namely the US and New Zealand. Obviously, the service can be used by Twitter users across mobile and desktop platforms (iOS, Android, and virtually anything that can run a modern web browser). The move comes a few months after the early June launch of Twitter Blue in Canada and Australia.
Available for a monthly fee of US$2.99 / NZ$4.49, Twitter Blue aims to deliver "more features, more content, and more ways to participate in the conversation" to subscribers. The list of Twitter Blue-exclusive features includes ad-free articles from sites like The Washington Post, L.A. Times, USA TODAY, The Atlantic, Reuters, The Daily Beast, Rolling Stone, BuzzFeed, Insider and The Hollywood Reporter, improved bookmarking, app icons and themes (iOS only), Bookmark Folders, Custom Navigation (iOS only), as well as Twitter Blue Labs.
If the name of the last feature mentioned above doesn't say it all, it is enough to say that Twitter Blue Labs provide access to beta-stage features. For now, subscribers can upload videos up to 10 minutes long via Longer Video Uploads (desktop) and pin their favorite conversations thanks to Pinned Conversations (iOS-exclusive feature).
With only four countries under its banner so far, Twitter Blue will surely hit other markets in the months to come. Sadly, there is no official information about times and places yet.
