Another solid Steam deal is now live. Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 has just received its biggest discount yet on Steam. As part of a special promotion running until June 19, 2025, the game is available for $41.99 - down 40% from its regular $69.99. As a result of this, we're now seeing the lowest recorded price for the game since launch, as confirmed by SteamDB.
The game released in October 2024 and reimagines the 2001 PlayStation 2 classic using Unreal Engine. Players step back into the role of James Sunderland, who returns to the eerie town of Silent Hill after receiving a letter from his deceased wife. The remake steps up the original’s haunting narrative with modern visuals, revamped controls, and over-the-shoulder camera movement. It also adds full voice acting, motion capture, and expanded exploration to make it more accessible for newcomers without losing the essence fans remember.
With over 43,000 user reviews on Steam and an approval rating above 93%, Silent Hill 2 appears to have struck a strong balance between nostalgia and modern polish. Most player feedback is in the favor of the atmosphere and faithful story adaptation, though some do mention the occasional stutters or performance dips on mid-range PCs.
Regardless, if you’ve been holding off on revisiting this horror classic, now’s probably the best time to grab it. Check out the Steam store page for the game here. You can also take a look at the game trailer below.
