Samsung Galaxy Tab E (9.6-inch, WiFi) T560N Tablet Review
Spreadtrum SC8830 | ARM Mali-400 MP | 9.60" | 488 g
The Spreadtrum SC8830 is a cheap entry-level ARM-SoC (System on a Chip) that is usually used in Android based smartphones. It is manufactured in 28nm and integrates a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at about 1.2 GHz, a ARM Mali-400 MP2 GPU (benchmarks), an LPDDR2/3 memory controller, and a radio module for HSPA+, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, and Bluetooth 4.0.
Due to the low clock rate of 1.2 GHz, the four CPU cores are only situated in the low end of Android SoCs similar to the MediaTek MT6589. Beware, in the Samsung Galaxy J1, the SoC is cut down to a dual-core version, and therefore show a lower performance in multi-threaded applications.
Thanks to the 28nm process and the small A7 cores, the power consumption is rather low and therefore the SoC can be used in small smartphones.
