Space Marine 2 update adds new difficulty setting, new PvP map and more
Saber Interactive has dropped a new 'Datavault' update that lets you complete 'Ordeals' in the campaign, operations, and eternal war modes. These are accessed through a new area in the battle barge called Datavault.
Completing these challenges will earn players Research Data currency that can be used to unlock information on allies and enemies. Some new cosmetics are tied to this mode - 4 icons for the right pauldron, 2 weapons skins, and 2 armor parts.
Besides that is a new PvP map called Tomb, which "includes fast routes on the flanks and a close-quarters central battle zone, which can be attacked from all the sides."
Biovore is a new enemy type for the Tyranids. It is fast, can shoot spore mines from a distance, and has a close-range melee attack. Six new emotes, including "a stoic handshake" and "a pound to the chest," can be accessed via the emote wheel.
Also new is a tech-priest workshop in the battle barge armory where players can exchange low-tier armory data for higher-tier ones. They can also sell armory data for requisition points. The cap for requisition points has gone up from 990 to 2000.
The game has also added the sixth and final difficulty, "Absolute," which is "focused on new, more diverse enemy packs that bring extreme challenge." Resources and ammo will be limited in this mode.
Besides the major updates, there are new QoL improvements like a FOV slider on PC, opt-in crossplay for console players, new finishers, an XP bonus for quick matches, and additional masteries for progression.
