Soundcore Sleep A30: ANC earbuds designed for comfortable sleep now available

The Anker Soundcore Sleep A30 earbuds may be familiar to attentive readers, as they were previously available as part of a crowdfunding campaign and have now officially gone on sale, at least in the US, for a price of $230. Information on availability in other markets is still pending.

While most earbuds are designed for everyday use or during sports, the Soundcore Sleep A30 is intended for nighttime use and thus represent more of a type of hearing protection with smart additional functions. According to Anker, the snoring of your partner is suppressed, not just passively through attenuation (like traditional earplugs) but also actively.

This is made possible via ANC (active noise cancellation) which functions as a sensor, allowing snoring to be detected. Additional functions are available, such setting an alarm, which won't disturb your partner and so can be very useful if you have different sleeping schedules. "AI brainwave audio" is advertised as a kind of sleep aid which is supposed to help "sync your brainwaves with calming patterns to promote relaxation and restful sleep". However, it goes without saying that simply masking snoring without investigating the cause may not necessarily be advisable from a health perspective.
