Sony Xperia 1 IV: Sony schedules a May 11 event presumably also for the Xperia 10 IV

Sony's next flagship phone, the Xperia 1 IV, has been in the news for weeks and it appears the company is finally set to bring the phone to the limelight. On its Twitter page this morning, Sony has officially announced the scheduling of an Xperia-focused event for May 11.

To be exact, neither the teaser image nor tweet make a direct reference to the Xperia 1 IV. The teaser video published on the Sony Xperia YouTube channel confirms that the Xperia 1 IV will be the star of the show, however. Previous generations of the phone were announced alongside the mid-range Xperia 10 model, so there's a significant chance that the Xperia 10 IV also gets coverage at the scheduled event.

Recent Sony phones have received criticism for poor availability and it's unlikely that the Xperia 1 IV gets launched on May 11. The teaser corroborates that as well, as it brands the event as a "product announcement" and not a launch event.
