Real Xperia 1 IV appears in new teaser from Sony confirming presence of 3.5 mm jack as more alleged specs surface
Leaks in regard to the Sony Xperia 1 IV, or whatever Sony will name its 2022 Xperia 1 flagship, have started increasing across social media around the globe. Supposed price tags for the smartphone have turned up, and even Sony itself has offered a few glimpses at the real deal in some of its teaser videos. One particular clip, “for music creators”, shows a singer using the Xperia 1 IV to supply both microphone and headphone functionality.
Interestingly, leaks on Weibo have indicated that not only does the Xperia 1 IV come with a 3.5 mm jack, as confirmed in the clip, but apparently it will also be of an “extremely advanced” kind. A closer look at the phone in the video shows that the familiar angular design of the Xperia line has not been dismissed for the latest iteration. The teaser also hints that some sort of Audio Pro app will be included with the Sony Xperia 1 IV.
Other details that have purportedly leaked here and there include a 4K 120 Hz HDR 21:9 display, the aforementioned dustproof and waterproof casing, and supposed dimensions for the Xperia 1 IV of 164.7 x 70.8 x 8.3 mm (6.48 in x 2.79 in x 0.33 in). If accurate, these measurements would make the Sony flagship device practically the same size as 2021’s Xperia 1 III. The Sony Xperia 1 IV is widely expected to be officially unveiled on May 11.
