Sony, today, launched the Xperia 10 IV, which is an incremental upgrade over the Xperia 10 III. The Xperia 10 IV is powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G SoC and comes with a brighter display, 12 MP triple-camera setup with OIS, and a 6-inch 21:9 OLED display. The Xperia 10 IV will be available mid-June for €499.

Alongside the flagship Xperia 1 IV, Sony also launched the Xperia 10 IV aimed at mid-range users. Sony claims that the Xperia 10 IV, powered by the Snapdragon 695 5G, is the world's lightest 5G smartphone at 161 g.

The Xperia 10 IV features a 6-inch 21:9 FHD+ OLED display, which Sony claims is 10% brighter than the previous generation Xperia 10 III. Not surprisingly, the company also flaunts its Triluminos TV display tech that has been implemented on mobile as well. The 21:9 aspect should enable easy multi-window multi-tasking. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and the phone is said to be IP65/68-complaint for dust and water resistance. A 5,000 mAh battery powers the device.

Sony also said that the Xperia 10 IV supports high-res audio, and the phone thankfully retains the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone also supports LDAC for wireless headsets and comes with a DSEE Ultimate audio enhancing function that works with both wired and wireless headphones. There's also a 360 Reality Audio engine that upscales regular stereo content into virtual surround sound while using headphones. This function is supported on both local music as well as popular streaming services.

On the imaging side, Sony has equipped the Xperia 10 IV with a triple 12 MP camera setup with 16 mm (wide angle), 27 mm (ultra-wide angle), and 54 mm (telephoto) lenses that cover most shooting requirements. There's optical image stabilization support (OIS) as well on the primary camera for both photo and video recordings. When on the move, the Xperia 10 IV uses both Sony's Optical SteadyShot and hybrid image stabilization.

Sony also claimed improvements to low-light photography and HDR shooting. The phone has a Superior Auto function automatically selects the right camera settings depending on the subject. The extended dynamic range capture allows the Xperia 10 IV to capture good details even in very brightly lit situations. An 8 MP front camera with AI-based face sharpening helps with the selfies.

The Sony Xperia 10 IV comes with Android 12 pre-loaded and will be available in black, white, mint, and lavender color options from mid-June 2022 for €499. Those who pre-order the Xperia 10 IV between 23 May and 30 June also stand to receive a Sony WF C500 wireless headphone for free with their purchase.
