The Sony Xperia 10 III acquires a new, charger-less retail option
The Sony Xperia 10 III was announced as a phone with its maker's OLED technology for its 6-inch display and a USB-PD charger for its 4,500mAh battery. Now, however, the OEM's German division has announced a change to this policy in its market. It will ship the phone with or without a charger, so customers can choose between the retail boxes in question.
Sony has also stated that the new, charger-less units come with a discount. Therefore, customers who opt for a new, slimmer Xperia 10 III retail box will get a discount off the phone's normal price. It goes for €425 in Europe; however, selecting one without a power brick knocks that price down to €415.
Sony Germany notes that this new decision has been made to keep Xperia 10 III units on shelves in the country. This new option applies to this phone and to this one market thus far. However, if consumers respond favorably, more of the company's mobile devices just might become members of the slim-box brigade in the future, upcoming models such as the Xperia 1 IV included.
