2nd-gen Google Pixel Stand specs and price leak with up to 23 W charging, active cooling fan, and choice of two colors confirmed
All of the details about the 2nd-gen Google Pixel Stand have been leaked via a combination of M. Brandon Lee (also known as This Is Tech Today) and analyst Michael Brown. Product page images for the Pixel Stand (posted below) offer all the pertinent information a future Google Pixel 6 owner could require, including charging speed, weight and dimensions, color choices, compatibility, and of course the MSRP.
The next-gen Pixel Stand comes in either Rock Candy or Fog, and it supports up to 23 W fast charging for Pixel phones (portrait mode charging). Qi-certified smartphones will have to settle for 15 W charging and the optimized coil for wearables provides 3 W charging for Pixel Buds. An active cooling fan is present in the second-generation Pixel Stand, which is a step up from the original model, and the charger is made from “approximately 39% recycled material”.
Those who purchase the 2nd-gen Google Pixel Stand in the EU, UK, or Switzerland can expect a 2-year limited warranty while buyers in other markets will have to make do with a 1-year warranty. As for the asking price, the images show a figure of US$79, which is something of a surprise as that is still the official price for the current Pixel Stand (it can be found much cheaper elsewhere). There’s always the chance the updated wireless charger might be sold at a higher figure when it is officially released, though.
