Sony has started teasing its new Xperia product launch. Earlier this year, the company introduced the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III, with the latter only just reaching some markets. Sony also released the Xperia 10 III and Xperia 10 III Lite, both mid-range smartphones.
Currently, Sony has given little away about what its next Xperia product is. However, one teaser points to the product being camera focussed, as you can see below. Presumably, Sony is planning on unveiling an Xperia PRO successor, which took a long time to come to market.
According to previous rumours, Sony will bring this new device to market as the Xperia 1 III Pro, rather than the Xperia PRO II. Either way, the handset is expected to combine the Xperia 1 III with the Xperia PRO. In other words, the Xperia 1 III Pro should arrive with a Snapdragon 888 SoC, 16 GB of RAM, a micro HDMI port and a rugged design.
Potentially, Sony could include upgraded cameras too, albeit the Xperia 1 III impressed us in this regard. Sony will make its announcement on October 26 at 12:00 JST (15:00 UTC), or 23:00 EDT on October 25 in the US. Sony will stream its Xperia product launch on its YouTube channel.
