Sony Xperia 1 III pre-order date for North America revealed on retail site but frosted purple is off the menu

The Sony Xperia 1 III pre-order date for North America has seemingly been revealed by B&H, with July 1 being the big day for Sony’s 2021 flagship smartphone. Proceedings are scheduled to kick off at 10 am ET. The store will be selling the North American variant of the device, but it will be unlocked so Xperia fans in other parts of the world can also order it if they so desire.

There’s no price mentioned in this particular Xperia 1 III listing; however, a potential price leak from a few days ago showed that users should expect to pay in the region of US$1,300 or more for the device. B&H is only offering the frosted black variant of the Sony Xperia 1 III, which means those who desperately desire the frosted purple or frosted gray models will have to look further afield for the time being (China, Japan).

On top of that potential disappointment, there might not be any freebies included with a purchase of the Xperia 1 III from B&H, as a staff member has stated “we do not see any free items applied with the Xperia 1 III at this time”. So it’s a potential US$1,300 payout for just the Sony Xperia 1 III smartphone and only in black. There has been a forum comment made that availability is expected on August 19, so shipping is likely to commence from that date.
