A gaming PC that evolves from the kitchen
When people get free rein to mod, magical things can happen. The latest creation from SignalRGB is a real microwave converted to a custom-built all-in-one gaming PC. The dinner blaster retains its working door, which functions as a pass-through monitor.
Built like a PC, dressed like a microwave
Behind the door-screen is an MSI MOG Z8901 Edge Ti motherboard perched on the turntable where your grub should have sat. The turntable is repurposed into a mobo tray, and you can arguably enjoy a few minutes of de-stressing as you watch the motherboard go round and round when in operation.
Packed to one side is an integrated AIO cooler, while an RTX 5060 Ti graphics card hugs the other side. The keypad beside the door is now navigating life as a Stream Deck.
Full gaming specs under the hood
The wacky presentation notwithstanding, the build is no slouch when it comes to gaming. SignalRGB installed an Intel Core Ultra 5 225 processor and paired it with 48 GB of Patriot Viper Xtreme 5 DDR5 memory and a 2 TB Patriot Viper VP4300 Lite NVMe SSD rated at 7,400 MB/s. The contraption is powered by a compact 1,100 W SFX 80+ Platinum PSU.
SignalRGB is proving true to its name, as the gaming microwave is festooned in and out with synchronized RGB lighting that you can control with the outfit’s software.
Win the microwave PC
Perhaps the best thing about the gaming microwave is that SignalRGB is giving it away for free. If you are waiting for the catch, the device is a one-off build worth $2,000 and can only be won through a competition that you enter on SignalRGB’s website. It is a time-limited entry, meaning you have to quickly decide whether to stick it beside your regular microwave in the kitchen or your existing rig in your dedicated gaming room.
