Despite what seems like a decline in GPUs recently, gaming hardware is still exorbitantly expensive. Because of that, many gamers are turning to gaming laptops to fill their hobby, as they tend to offer good performance in addition to high-refresh displays and other benefits for a decent price.
If you're not against getting an older model, the Razer Blade 15 Advanced from 2020 is currently going for about US$900 below its MSRP. Over at Amazon, Razer is selling the laptop for $1,700, 35% less than its standard price of $2,599.99.
For that money, you get Intel's 10th Gen Core i7-10875H, an 8-core CPU clocked at up to 5.1 GHz, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super Max-Q. The 2020 Razer Blade 15 Advanced also comes with a 15.6-inch FHD (1920x1080) 300 Hz IPS display, 16 GB of DDR4-2933 RAM, a 512 GB NVMe SSD, WiFi 6, and support for Thunderbolt 3.
While it's not the latest and greatest hardware, the CPU and GPU are still very capable for modern games. The RTX 2070 Super Max-Q is able to hit roughly 130-140 FPS in Doom Eternal, about 90-95 FPS in Horizon: Zero Dawn, 60 FPS in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and just under 60 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077, all at max settings and the laptop's native resolution of 1920x1080.
If you don't mind shelling out $650 more, you can snag the RTX 3070 model of the Blade 15 Advanced, which also bumps the refresh rate of the panel to 360Hz. That model is currently selling for $2,349.89, or about $250 off its retail price.
You can purchase either the RTX 2070 Super Max-Q model or the RTX 3070 model at Amazon.
