Among the many things that the Asus Zenbook S 16 has going for it, the slim “Ceraluminum” chassis is the most obvious. It is sleek and modern, giving the Zenbook S 16 a high-end appeal. We praised both the design and the construction of the Zenbook S 16 in our review, noting that the laptop’s body was “extremely stylish” and “surprisingly stable”.
Asus has managed to marry this thin construction with an awesome 120 Hz OLED display, long battery life, and solid performance. Our measurements reveal that the 2880x1800 OLED panel covers 100% DCI-P3, has strong contrast, and 391 nits of average brightness. There is also no need for user calibration.
For performance, the 10-core Ryzen AI 9 365 APU is, overall, a pretty speedy chip. However, due to thermal constraints, Asus has only configured the APU with a 28 W TDP, which takes a toll on the performance. Despite this, the Zenbook S 16 should breeze through routine tasks like web browsing without any slowdowns.
Finally, the efficient Ryzen AI 9 365 and the 78 Wh inside the Zenbook S 16 allow decent battery life. We measured a web browsing runtime of around 12 hours in our WLAN test.
