If you missed out on Prime Day Kindle deals, not to worry. Best Buy is giving you another chance to grab Amazon’s first color Kindle at its lowest price.
The Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is currently up for grabs at Best Buy for just $180, a flat $100 off its usual $280 price, and matches the lowest price we’ve seen for the color e-reader. Keep in mind that this is a limited-time deal that ends at 11:59 PM EDT on August 6. Surprisingly, Amazon isn’t matching the deal, with the e-reader still listed at full price. However, it’s knocking 10% off the Essential Bundle, which includes the wireless charging dock and a plant-based leather cover.
The Colorsoft Signature Edition, the company’s first-ever e-reader with a color E Ink panel, is great for reading manga, color comics, illustrated books, and graphic novels. The spacious 7-inch glare-free display offers auto-adjusting front light and adjustable Warm Light, though you do miss out on the dark mode found on monochrome Kindles. 32GB of storage is more than enough for storing thousands of books, and IPX8 certification means you can read by the pool or at the beach without much worry. The battery life is rated for 8 weeks, which is 4 weeks less than the Paperwhite, but in a world where our phones and laptops barely last two days, anything that goes beyond a week is quite impressive. The Colorsoft supports both USB-C and wireless charging, and it also boasts Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to pair your headphones and listen to audiobooks via Audible.
Amazon now also offers a cheaper Colorsoft for $250 that has half the storage and ditches wireless charging and auto-adjusting front light.
