To commemorate its 145th Anniversary, Seiko has officially unveiled a new set of Japan-only limited-edition watches, spanning four of its core collections. The release includes mechanical, quartz, and GPS solar models, and production numbers look to be deliberately low across the board.
One of the key highlights here is the King Seiko SJE121 (SDKA027 JDM). This model draws a lot of inspiration from Seiko’s early pocket watches. It features a compact stainless steel case measuring 39.4 × 9.9 × 43.6 mm, paired with an automatic movement. The dial uses a dark gradient finish with gold-tone hands and markers. Production is limited to 800 pieces, as confirmed by the caseback engraving as well.
Seiko has also introduced the Presage SPB538 (SARX136 JDM). This watch instantly evokes a sense of more "classical" design. It uses a round gold-tone stainless steel case with a textured bezel and Roman numeral dial. Power comes from the 6R51 automatic movement, which removes the central seconds hand in favor of a small seconds layout. The case measures 35 × 12.3 × 37 mm, and the model is limited to 1,450 units.
On the sportier side, Seiko revealed the Prospex Speedtimer SRQ059 (SBEC031 JDM). This is a mechanical chronograph with a patterned dial and gold accents. It runs on the 8R48 automatic chronograph movement and comes in a 42 × 14.6 × 49.5 mm stainless steel case. The total production is capped at 700 pieces, making it one of the rarest releases in this batch.
Rounding out the lineup is the Astron SSH186 (SBXC186 JDM). The high-end GPS Solar chronograph has a black and gold color scheme. It uses Seiko’s 5X83 GPS Solar with offering satellite time sync and chronograph functions. The titanium case measures 44.1 × 14.4 × 50 mm, and the sapphire bezel adds durability. This model is limited to 1,450 units.
Exact pricing and availability dates remain undisclosed for now.
