OLED gaming monitors are excellent for gaming and media consumption. The vibrant colors and deep blacks take immersion to the next level. When it comes to gaming in particular, a 49-inch display covers much more of your field of view adding to that immersion. But cost is typically a deterrent when considering ultrawide OLED gaming monitors. Fortunately, this Samsung Odyssey G9 is over 40% off on Amazon.
Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 (G93SC) features and specifications
Boasting a 49-inch QD-OLED curved display, the Odyssey OLED G9 comes with high frame rates and fast response times, along with all the OLED goodness. It features a 5,120x1,440p ultrawide 240 Hz panel and 0.03 ms response time. With both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, the Odyssey OLED G9 can ensure a tear free gaming experience.
Samsung claims DisplayHDR True Black 400 rating for the monitor but according to the RTINGS review, the Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) is quite aggressive and it makes large areas of bright objects dimmer. That being said, it is still a decent HDR experience.
For connectivity, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 comes with an HDMI 2.1 port, a micro HDMI 2.1 port, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a three USB hub. The stand offers height adjustment and some tilt, but that’s it. It does have a cable management channel. Regardless, the monitor supports VESA 100x100 mounting standard so it can be placed on a monitor arm or wall mount.
