The Galaxy S25 series is edging ever closer, although Samsung has not commented on the replacements for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Plus and Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $894.76 on Amazon). Nonetheless, various sources have revealed details about Samsung's next flagships in the last few weeks.
For instance, @chunvn8888 now claims that Samsung will finally adopt a feature that its rivals have provided across all its smartphones for almost a decade at this point. Specifically, the leaker reports that Seamless Update support will be available across Samsung's flagship smartphone portfolio, starting with the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
For reference, Seamless Update support is also known as A/B partitioning. In summary, this technology reduces lengthy install times by downloading Android updates in the background and switching boot partitions when rebooting. Please note that Samsung has not confirmed this publicly.
However, the inclusion of Seamless Update support on the Galaxy A55 implies that this feature will be brought to higher-end devices at some stage. Currently, Samsung is expected to deliver the Galaxy S25 series with the promise of seven major updates from Android 15 onwards. Incidentally, Google may release Android 16 only a few months after Samsung starts selling its next flagships, details of which we have covered separately.
