Galaxy S25 Ultra: New leak reveals huge gains over Galaxy Samsung S24 Ultra
It turns out that Samsung has been developing at least some Galaxy S25 models with its rumoured Exynos 2500 chipset. However, some sources believe that this was only for testing purposes before switching to the Snapdragon 8 Elite en masse. Please see our corresponding article for more information.
To that end, a newer listing of what appears to be the Galaxy S25 Ultra has surfaced on Geekbench. While the benchmarking platform does not refer to the device by name, the 'SM-S938U' model number offers a few indications. Based on Samsung's current nomenclature, SM-S938U should correlate with the US version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, just as SM-S928U did with this year's Galaxy S24 Ultra (curr. $894.76 on Amazon).

For context, our Galaxy S24 Ultra review unit scored 2,287 and 7,102 in Geekbench 6.3 single-core and multi-core benchmarks. By contrast, this early Galaxy S25 Ultra manages 3,148 and 10,236 in the same benchmarks when paired with 12 GB of RAM. Thus, the latter outscores the former by roughly 38% in single-core benchmarks but 44% in multi-core work.
While this may be an impressive gen-on-gen performance improvement, it falls slightly short of Qualcomm's claims when announcing the Snapdragon 8 Elite last month. Seemingly, Samsung will continue to equip its Ultra smartphone with only 12 GB of RAM, too; the company has not offered multiple RAM configurations for its Ultra smartphones since the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Incidentally, case designs for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra recently surfaced online courtesy of a well-known leaker.
