Samsung One UI 7 leak reveals its new features ahead of the rumored beta rollout
At the SDC event, Samsung announced that One UI 7 will become fully official with the release of the Galaxy S25 series. However, the beta program will start by the end of 2024. While the company didn't share any specific timeline, prominent leaker Ice Universe claims that the beta rollout will happen within November.
Ahead of this beta rollout, a new leak has detailed the new things that this update could bring. It comes from Android Headlines, and according to the leak, Samsung will offer redesigned icons, which will look a bit more modern than the ones that are present in One UI 6.
The leak also shows a new lock screen featuring many elements like live widgets, timers, and playback controls. It backs up the past reports by showing a separate notification panel, which is expected to make it easier to manage the notifications and access the quick toggles.
Those aren't the only changes the leak has showcased. It also notes that Samsung will add the new homework help feature of Circle to Search. This feature was announced in this year's Google I/O event, and on One UI 7, it will help to finish homework problems.
Moreover, the leak details that One UI 7 will offer enhanced health insights in Energy Score and easy monitoring features for parents with Parental Controls. There will be a full suite of photo-editing tool upgrades as well, including the ability to restyle portraits with AI and AI-generated photo effects to make images stand out in social media.
As for compatibility, One UI 7 is expected to be available on a range of Samsung smartphones. That includes many mid-range devices and a good number of recent flagships (512 GB Galaxy S24 Ultra curr. $1,150.25 on Amazon).
