Samsung has announced a limited edition The Freestyle projector created in partnership with Helinox, a Korean-based outdoor brand. The product launches in Korea on September 27 with a Helinox skin and a battery bag. The Freestyle, unveiled at CES earlier this year, is a portable projector that can throw 16:9 images up to 100-in (~254 cm) wide, thanks to a 1.2 throw ratio.
The device has up to 550 LED lumens brightness and can rotate 180°, enabling you to find the perfect viewing angle. The product automatically removes distortion and focuses the image. Another smart feature of the gadget is intelligent image quality adjustment to prolong the battery life. Built-in speakers provide a 360° audio experience with support for Dolby Digital Plus. The Samsung projector has a 32,000 mAh battery that can last up to three hours between charges. You can also connect the gadget to an external power pack with a USB-PD output from 50 W.
The portable device is light, weighing 830 g (~29.3 oz) and measuring 104.2 x 172.8 x 95.2 mm (~4.1 x 6.8 x 3.7-in). The limited edition Samsung The Freestyle x Helinox projector will cost 119 million KRW (~US$83,089). The product will be available from the HCC (Helenox Creative Center) in Seoul and the Helinox online store. It is currently unclear whether or when this model could be released in other markets.
