Camera specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold4 have emerged ahead of Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event. Based on various leaks, the Galaxy Z Fold4 should feature significantly better cameras than its predecessor and may even be on par with the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. Depending on who you believe, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will either start at €1,799 or €1,879 in the Eurozone.

@SamsungRydah and @_snoopytech_ have revealed details about the cameras in the Galaxy Z Fold4, not long after hands-on photos of the handset emerged. Incidentally, last week's Amazon Netherlands' listings did not reveal any camera specifications, although they confirmed the device's footprint, among other things. Potentially, the greatest differences between the Galaxy Z Fold4 and its predecessor could be their cameras, with the Galaxy Z Fold3 relying on the same rear-facing sensors as the Galaxy Z Fold2.

Specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will launch with 50 MP primary, 12 MP ultra-wide-angle and 10 MP telephoto cameras, with the latter offering 3x optical zoom. Additionally, the Galaxy Z Fold4 has a 10 MP front-facing camera beneath its cover display, mirroring its predecessor. In other words, Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy Z Fold series to the rear-facing cameras that it also uses in the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. Theoretically, these sensors should yield significantly better camera performance than the Galaxy Z Fold3 manages.

Moreover, Samsung has reworked its under-display camera (UDC) technology for the Galaxy Z Fold4. As the image below shows, Samsung has altered the display's pixel arrangement around the inner camera, still a 4 MP sensor, yielding a 40% resolution improvement from 94 PPI to 132 PPI. For context, the foldable display itself has a pixel density of 374 PPI, so Samsung still has a way to go before hiding the UDC completely. Ultimately, it remains to be seen how noticeable the Galaxy Z Fold4's UDC will be; we would recommend reserving judgement until after people start receiving retail units.

Furthermore, WinFuture alleges that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will start at €1,799 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device will be available with 512 GB of storage for €1,899. Purportedly, Samsung will offer a 1 TB version in some markets, but there is no guarantee that one of these markets will be the Eurozone. In comparison, @Sudhanshu1414 claims that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will cost €1,879 with 256 GB of storage and €1,999 for the 512 GB model. The Galaxy Z Fold4 will be one of many new products that Samsung presents on August 10 at its next Galaxy Unpacked event, including the Galaxy Z Flip4.
