Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event is right around the corner. Scheduled for July 9, the event is expected to showcase not just not Galaxy Watch models but also the Galaxy Z Flip7, Galaxy Z Fold7 and possibly even the Galaxy Z Flip FE. However, there have been no suggestions that Samsung plans to refresh its Galaxy Tab line during the same event.
Nonetheless, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra now seems to have graced Geekbench. To recap, what appeared to be the smaller Galaxy Tab S11 emerged on the same benchmarking platform earlier this month, sporting the model number SM-X736B. As with the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra (curr. $849.99 - refurbished on Amazon), it looks like the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra could hold a performance advantage over its smaller sibling.
Even at this early stage, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra outperforms its direct predecessor thanks to Samsung's switch to the newer MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ platform. Specifically, these benchmark results suggest that the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra possesses about 22% superior single-core performance than the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. Conversely, only about a 10% gap exists between the pair's multi-core performance.
Unfortunately for Samsung, rival Android OEMs have used the Snapdragon 8 Elite to great effect inside competing tablets. For instance, the Oppo Pad 4 Pro enjoys a 16% single-core performance advantage at this stage, which narrows to just under 15% in the Geekbench 6.4.0 multi-core benchmarks. Worse still, an even larger multi-core performance gap exists when comparing the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra's results against Apple's M3 and M4-powered iPads.
As it stands, Samsung is also expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra this autumn with a nominally larger battery than its predecessor too. Presumably, Galaxy Tab S11 series product images will start surfacing towards the back end of the summer.
