The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has been spotted at the FCC ahead of its release. While there are reports that Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S26 series with the choice of an Exynos 2600 processor or a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, depending on the market, the FCC listing for the Galaxy S26 Ultra says that won't be the case for the top model.
Two variants of the Galaxy S26 Ultra with model numbers “SM-S948B” and “SM-S948U” were certified by the FCC. “SM-S948B” is believed to be the model number for the global/international version of the Galaxy S26 Ultra while “SM-S948U” is the model number for the US version. And according to the documents, they are both equipped with a SM8850 chipset which is the model number for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. This means the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm's flagship chipset globally.
As a refresher, the last time Samsung released an ultra model with two different chipsets was in 2022 when it launched the Galaxy S22 Ultra. On the other hand, last year's Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus were available in Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy variants.
The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ are reported to toe the same line as they are expected to be available with an Exynos 2600 processor in Samsung's own home market, while the rest of the world will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
