The discovery of a Realme smartphone that seems to have the same specs and design as the GT 7 Pro with a few apparently strategic omissions might have been officially acknowledged by the company today (February 4, 2025).
The OEM's vice-president Xu Qi Chase has started to hype a new smartphone that will "live up to the name of GT" in terms of design, build quality and "performance" - especially performance.
It is backed to appeal to fans that prioritize the latter, perhaps even at the cost of flagship-grade features such as a camera hump with an on-trend periscope zoom lens, such as that sported by the 7 Pro.
That might explain why the device heretofore thought of as the "GT 7" does not have one in its leaks, replacing it with a segmented ring-flash.
It might not have that name either after all, as the Realme executive now strongly hints that it will "respond to the passion for performance with racing".
Therefore, it looks like the GT Neo smartphones of old are back after all - in spirit, at least, as the "GT 7 Racing Edition" is also tipped to launch with top-tier 120W charging.
