The Realme GT 6 is an excellent option if you want a powerful smartphone under Rs.50,000 that delivers all the essentials. It has a premium curved display with Victus 2, a capable chipset, all-rounder cameras and a long-lasting battery with fast charging. However, you will need to deal with the boring industrial design, the average ultrawide-angle sensor, and the lack of wireless charging. Most of these are minor cons that can be easily overlooked. The Realme GT 6 is one of the few phones that I enjoyed using during my review. It is a balanced flagship killer that offers the perfect blend of all elements. Other phones that you can consider in this price range include the Xiaomi 14 Civi, OnePlus 12R, iQOO Neo 9 Pro 5G and the OnePlus 11, which offer similar features and performance.

The realme GT 6 is a great smartphone with a near-flagship level with a full set of necessary features and benefits. It has an extremely bright LTPO AMOLED display, a good set of cameras, and a powerful processor that works stably under heavy loads. The smartphone has loud and high-quality stereo speakers, lasts a long time on a single battery charge, and charges very quickly. Given the price of the smartphone, it will not be easy to find competitors with a processor that is close in performance. But there are always things that can be improved. The telephoto camera has only 2x zoom, while competitors offer 3x. And I would like to have eSIM support, which is available in more affordable models.

Can I call the Realme GT 6 the perfect upper mid-range phone? No. But, for what it’s worth, the GT 6 is a solid device that gets most things right. Regarding the cons, I could only find a few. For instance, while the back glass is nice and shimmery, it also becomes a fingerprint magnet pretty fast. The camera performance, while great as an overall offering, could offer some improvement with the ultra-wide lens. Having said this, the Realme GT 6 is a good phone with a powerful processor, solid battery life with fast wired charging, and great all-around cameras. Granted, when you look at the competition, there are a variety of capable options, such as the likes of Poco F6, Xiaomi 14 Civi and OnePlus 12R.

realme’s “flagship killer” is so far the more affordable Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 smartphone available for the local market, albeit just RM100 short of the HONOR 200 Pro. It packs commendable performance and cooling, above average cameras, and the largest battery capacity as well as the fastest charging speed in this particular category. While technically not a flagship, the realme GT 6 sure does feel like one in several ways. Needless to say, if you’re looking for an alternative to premium, high-end models that’s much easier on your wallet, this smartphone is one of those worth looking into.

So, we come to the conclusion and the question still remains — is the realme GT 6 really the “flagship killer” as what realme touted it to be? Before we answer that, we’d like to define what a flagship killer is, because this term has been used way too often and too loosely. For us, it means that the device “performs at par or very close to the levels of a true flagship despite not packing the greatest configuration and packaged at a more affordable price-point that’s below your average flagship device. In that sense, yes, the realme GT 6 has got what it takes to challenge any of the current flagship smartphones in the market today. The specs are not over-kill or over-done yet it manages to perform at a level that can be considered a true flagship.

All in all, the Realme GT 6 is a great upper-tier smartphone with a well-rounded set of features. It has a potent main camera, good zoom camera, snappy chipset, flagship-grade LTPO OLED panel, fast charging, excellent battery life, blazing-fast charging and loud and good-sounding speakers. In a sense, the GT 6 covers all the bases. But that doesn't mean there's no competition around that may give you more for the asking price in some aspects. And perhaps the biggest missteps of GT 6 are the ultrawide and selfie cameras. The competition has moved away from the dated 8MP ultrawide unit, and Realme should too.

The extra-large battery will last well beyond a day, and when you do need to charge it, the 120W charger takes care of it in a jiffy. There are new AI features to play with, IP65 rating, and Android OS upgrades for the next three years. A few shortcomings with the ultrawide camera and the added heft aside, the Realme GT 6 is a strong mid-range offering with a wide appeal.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
