The Realme 2 Pro is a phone directed at the younger market in a number of countries, including India. Here, the 2 Pro is available at Rs. 1000 (about US$14) less than usual. However, its better-spec'd SKUs are currently out of stock.

Realme is OPPO's increasingly recognizable youth-oriented sub-brand. Its 2 Pro smartphone has the Snapdragon 660 alongside some potentially desirable features such as a waterdrop notch, a metallic unibody and a minimum of 4GB in RAM. It is normally sold at a starting price of Rs. 13,990 (about US$195.98) in India. However, it is now on sale in this country.

The 2 Pro is now available at Rs. 12,990 (~$181) for the entry-level 4GB RAM/64GB storage option. Similarly, its 6GB/64GB model is now only Rs. 14,990 (~$209), whereas the most expensive 8GB/128GB is now Rs. 16,990 (~$237). This means that Rs. 1000 (US$14) has been taken off the launch price of each of these SKUs.

The Realme 2 Pr is sold on Flipkart and on the brand's own website in India. Unfortunately, the 8GB/128GB variants are sold out on the former, as are the 4GB and 6GB Ice Lake (Realme for pale blue) units. GizmoChina also reports that the most premiun versions of this phone are also now unavailable on the Realme site.

This abrupt, apparent stock clearance may indicate that Realme is preparing a new device soon. This one may be intended to compete with the recently-released OPPO K1 or even the Redmi Note 7 in markets such as India. However, prospective buyers who also enjoy customizing their Android experience should be aware that Realme likes to make customers jump through hoops to unlock their devices' bootloaders.
