Razer and scooter maker NIU announce partnership

NIU currently focuses primarily on electrically powered two-wheelers such as electric scooters, e-bikes, 45 km/h electric scooters, and electric motorcycles. We have already spent a week testing one of NIU's motorcycles ourselves: the NIU RQi Sport.
Now, NIU and laptop maker and lifestyle brand Razer have announced a partnership that may not seem like an obvious fit at first. The first result of the collaboration is the FQiX x Razer Special Edition. The FQiX is available in two versions: the 50cc equivalent, which is limited to 45 km/h (FQiX 150), and the FQiX 300 in the 125cc class, with the latter electric scooter reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h. Both models are said to offer a range of up to 110 km on a single charge.
There is, however, a caveat to the latter figure. Apparently, only the smaller version is also available in a standard configuration with a single battery, which limits its range to 55 km. It is only with the second battery, which comes standard on the larger model, that the 50 km/h version can also reach 110 km.
From now on, the electric scooter will be available in a special Razer design, naturally finished in black and dark green. The idea is to make the scooter look cool while also raising NIU's profile among gamers, with the Razer design appealing directly to its gaming customer base. Riding around on a Razer-branded NIU is therefore kind of a statement, too—for gaming?

The FQiX features a 5-inch dashboard display, can travel up to 110 km thanks to its 4,032 Wh battery, and is equipped with a 3,800 W or 4,100 W motor. A radar system at the rear warns of vehicles following too closely, and the batteries are removable.
For now, the Razer-designed version is limited to 2,500 units worldwide. Preorders are now open. The smaller standard version (1 battery) costs €2,599, while both models with two batteries cost the same: €3,099. As a goody, buyers also get a Razer Rogue Backpack V4. A €100 deposit is required to reserve one.
