Radxa has revealed not one, but two brand-new ultra-compact single-board computers (SBCs) with ARM-based processors and a whopping four gigabit Ethernet ports. Dubbed the E24C and E54C, the two SBCs boast decent hardware features that hobbyists and DIY enthusiasts are bound to love.
Radxa E24C: Affordable variant with quad-core ARM CPU
The Radxa E24C SBC is priced at just $35, and boasts a Rockchip RK3528A 4-core ARM CPU featuring Cortex A53 cores with an integrated Mali G450 GPU. The system sports 4 GB of memory, on-board eMMC storage along with an M.2 2280 slot that can support up to a 4 TB SSD (WD SN7100 curr. $265.31 on Amazon) via a PCIe 2.1x1 interface. A 14-pin GPIO header is present as well. The port selection is pretty decent, consisting of the following:
- Four gigabit Ethernet ports
- HDMI
- Three USB 2.0 Type-A
- One USB 2.0 Type-C
- microSD slot
Radxa E54C: Higher-end variant with hexa-core ARM CPU
In terms of ports and connectivity, the $55 Radxa E54C SBC boasts nearly the same specifications as its cheaper sibling, except that it sports a faster USB 3.0 Type-C as well as a Type-A port instead of USB 2.0. However, the E54C enjoys the benefit of having up to 32 GB of memory, and the faster 6-core Rockchip RK3582 SoC with two Cortex A76 and four Cortex A55 cores. An NPU with 5 TOPS of peak performance is also on board.
The Radxa E24C and E54C SBCs are already on sale, as noted by Liliputing. Priced affordably, both the systems appear to be lucrative options for DIY enthusiasts on the prowl for their next home router, plex server, NAS box, or smart home hub.
