Ryzen AI 9 HX 370: Excellent performance all around
The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 is an incredibly powerful APU, boasting a 12-core setup consisting of 4 Zen 5 performance cores and 8 Zen 5c efficiency cores. The CPU performance is in the same league as the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H and Apple's M3 Pro, allowing the Minisforum AI X1 Pro mini PC to easily tackle almost any CPU-intensive workload. 32 GB of DDR5 memory is also on offer, which is thankfully user-upgradeable and quite easy to access.
In terms of GPU performance, the Strix Point APU continues to impress. The integrated Radeon 890M iGPU packs a total of 16 CUs based on RDNA 3+, enabling performance that manages to trade blows with an RTX 2050 Mobile GPU. In other words, the iGPU is more than powerful enough for casual lightweight gaming. Folks who require even more GPU horsepower can always go the eGPU route, thanks to the Minisforum AI X1 Pro mini PC's included OCuLink port.
Well-built and feature-rich
Our in-depth review of the product reveals that there is indeed very little room for complaint with the Minisforum AI X1 Pro mini PC. Thermal performance is perfectly admirable, with the mini PC being barely audible when not pushed. Even under high load, the noise levels remain tolerable. The I/O selection is also quite impressive, consisting of the following ports:
- Dual USB 4
- OCuLink
- Dual 2.5G Ethernet
- Dual USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, SD Card slot
- HDMI 2.1
- DisplayPort 2.0
- Audio jack
All said, the Minisforum AI X1 Pro mini PC is a superb system that boasts promising performance in both CPU and GPU departments. Moreover, in workloads where the iGPU won't suffice, the OCuLink interface allows eGPU connections with minimal performance loss. At its current sale price on Amazon, the powerful Strix Point mini PC sure does bring commendable value to the table.
