Minix has introduced a new affordable mini PC, the NUC150. One of the main highlights of the system is the compact chassis. It's said to measure 117 x 111 x 36 mm, and this small size makes it ideal for space-restricted spaces and for those who are looking for a clean setup.
The mini PC can be equipped with either the Intel N150 or the Core 3 N355. Both are from the Twin Lake lineup, but the latter is a slightly more capable processor than the former. Minix notes that the CPU can be paired with 16 GB of RAM and up to 4 TB of PCIe 3.0 storage.
It's worth noting that the mini PC has one M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0x2 and one 2242 PCIe 3.0x1 slot (1 TB Corsair MP600 Micro curr. $94.99 on Amazon). Connectivity-wise, the Minix NUC150 has a generous number of ports, including:
- 3x USB 3.2 Type-A
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-C
- 1x RJ45 Ethernet
- 2x HDMI
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
Among the two USB Type-C ports, one is a full-function port, featuring DisplayPort 1.4 and PD support. For wireless connectivity, the Minix NUC150 features WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Price-wise, the official website notes that the mini PC will start at $279, and this tag is likely for the configuration with the Intel N150. The one featuring the Core 3 N355 is expected to cost a bit more. There's no official word on the release date, but the website highlights that the NUC150 will be available soon.
