Adafruit is now offering a new single-board computer with extensive features for SBC enthusiasts. The Fruit Jam RP2350 is based on the Raspberry Pi RP2350B, which has two ARM Cortex-M33 cores with clock speeds of up to 150 MHz, 8MB of PSRAM and 16MB of flash memory. A microSD card reader is available as well.
The mainboard measures 3.4 x 2.1 inches. Adafruit provides a cover plate that can be installed to protect the little computer. A 1-watt mini speaker is also included. Another special feature is that the Adafruit RP2350 single-board computer is equipped with three tactile switches, in addition to the clearly labeled on/off switch. The USB-C port can be used for power supply and data transfer.
Two USB-A ports can be used to connect a keyboard, mouse or gamepad. Displays can be hooked up via DVI-D, although the RP2350B only supports resolutions up to 1280 x 720 pixels. Meanwhile, the 16-pin GPIO header can be used for expansion modules, and an infrared sensor allows the SBC to be controlled remotely. Thanks to the integrated Espressif ESP32-C6 the SBC should support WiFi 6 (2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth 5.
Price and availability
The Adafruit Fruit Jam RP2350 single-board computer is now available for $39 at the manufacturer's online shop, but is currently listed as sold out. Adafruit also ships to Europe, but the price does not include any potential import taxes or fees. This makes the Fruit Jam RP2350 more expensive than many competing products based on the same chip, such as the Waveshare RP2350B (from $19 on Amazon), but it also has expansion options.
