The Elecrow mini PC case is yet another new accessory for the Raspberry Pi 5. It features an aluminum alloy body that's paired with clear acrylic on the left side and the front, mimicking the cases available for gaming PCs. There's RGB lighting as well, and the chassis comes with three system fans.
Another highlight of the mini PC case is that it has a built-in 1.3-inch OLED screen on the top. This display can show system information and can also be customized to show date and time. Elecrow also notes that the chassis offers access to a rich selection of ports, including:
- 1x USB Type-C
- 2x HDMI
- 1x Ethernet
- 2x USB 3.0 Type-A
- 2x USB 2.0 Type-A
In addition, the mini PC case package includes extender boards, and one of them offers easy access to the 40-pin GPIO interface of the Raspberry Pi 5. Another of the boards allows installation of an SSD, and Elecrow highlights that the setup has support for a 2280, 2260, 2242, and 2230 SSD (2 TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus curr. $139.97 on Amazon).
Elecrow is also offering another version of its mini PC case that can hold an Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano. However, it appears to be a little less feature-packed than the version for the Raspberry Pi 5. For example, it lacks the module for an M.2 SSD, and there's no support for an RTC battery.
As for the price, the version designed for the Raspberry Pi 5 is going for $39.90 on the official store. The option for the Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano, on the other hand, costs $31.90.
