Tesla is rolling out software update 2025.26 for its cars, adding multiple features. The standout feature is Grok (Beta) in the US, but the release also contains Light Sync, audio settings, dashcam, and charging info improvements, and a new onboarding guide.

The barriers between Elon Musk’s businesses are getting blurrier as another product crosses company lines. Tesla just announced a software update that adds the popular Grok AI to the already long list of smarts in its vehicles.

According to the official Tesla account on X, update 2025.26 makes Grok available to cars in the US and with AMD processors. The offering remains in beta, and drivers cannot use it to control the vehicle. It does not affect existing voice commands.

The new AI feature requires Premium Connectivity or a WiFi connection.

Grok was developed and launched by xAI in 2023. It was integrated into X, enhancing its real-time search capabilities.

Grok might grab the headlines, but it is not the only item in update 2025.26. Accent lights (Light Sync) can now respond to music, and customers can create a more immersive effect by matching the lights to the album’s color. Only the latest Model 3 and Model Y, and the 2026 Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck are compatible.

The software update adds the ability to create and save multiple presets to match listening preferences in the settings. Tesla has also added zooming and adjusting playback speed in the Dashcam Viewer app. On the Cybertruck, users will now see a grid view, enabling them to access and review recordings easily.

Another notable feature offers more details about charging at various destinations. Drivers can now see locations that require valet service or pay-to-park access in the charger list. They will also receive a notification containing access codes, parking restrictions, level or floor information & restroom availability.

Lastly, Tesla has added Onboarding Guide to help new Tesla owners get familiar with their vehicles. It includes a crash course on adjusting settings, controlling lights, operating the wipers, using Autopilot, etc.

As usual, the new update will be available over-the-air (OTA).
