Walmart has discounted the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme prebuilt gaming PC by a massive 28%. The price drop brings the RTX 5070 and Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus-powered gaming PC below $1,500. This is a pretty good price when we consider that the much weaker Steam Machine also costs $1,349 for the 2 TB model.

Gaming laptops and prebuilt desktop gaming PCs on sale are perhaps the only ways for users to get access to gaming PCs that don’t cost a ton of money. There have been some very good deals on both gaming laptops and prebuilt gaming PCs in the past weeks, and currently, you can get an RTX 5070-powered gaming PC from Walmart for under $1,500.

Walmart is currently selling the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme gaming PC with an RTX 5070 GPU and a Core Ultra 5 250KF Plus CPU for $1,349.99. Walmart lists this as a $520.99 reduction vs the $1,869.99 list price. The PC pairs the GPU and CPU with 16 GB of DDR5 memory, a 1 TB SSD, and a motherboard that comes equipped with Wi-Fi 6/BT 5.3. You can also outfit the PC with a maximum of 196 GB of RAM when the DRAM prices eventually start to come down.

Finally, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme also comes bundled with a keyboard and mouse. So, all you need is a good monitor and a pair of headphones to start gaming.

$1,349.99 is arguably a pretty good price for what you are getting here. We reported a few days ago that the excellent Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is now more expensive than at launch. The same goes for the RTX 5070, which is next to impossible to find brand-new at the official $549 MSRP.

Add the increased price of DDR5 and PCIe Gen 4 SSDs, and the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme starts to make a lot of sense.

So, what kind of performance can you expect from the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme?

We have tested both the RTX 5070 and the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus quite extensively. While the 12 GB of VRAM is a bummer, the RTX 5070 is a pretty powerful GPU that will excel at 1080p and 1440p gaming. In demanding titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the RTX 5070 can manage 60+ FPS at 1080p/ultra without using DLSS. With DLSS, you can easily cross 90 FPS at 1440p.

For the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus, it is one of Intel’s best price/performance CPUs on the market. Our review of the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus placed the CPU ahead of the Ryzen 7 9700X, which is AMD’s high-end 8-core Zen 5 part.

In short, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme is powerful enough for 1440p and high-refresh 1080p gaming. The current price is quite good, especially when you consider that the 2 TB Steam Machine costs $1,349, yet offers performance nowhere near that of the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme. Per our testing, the RTX 5070 is over 230% faster than the RX 7600-equivalent GPU of the Steam Machine.
