TWS earbuds are increasingly popular and ubiquitous personal audio products that fall into premium, mid-range or budget price-tiers. Qualcomm has previously launched new silicon for the first of these, and now has a similar range for the second. Nevertheless, these new SoCs are rated to offer some of the main features that might be sought-after specs in 2021.
Bluetooth Low Energy Audio (LE Audio) may be the most prominent of these. Qualcomm describes it as "a new industry standard" that elaborates on the current abilities of this pre-existing wireless technology. It may act to deliver functions such as multi-device audio-sharing in conjunction with other specs in the QCC305x chipsets.
They may also include Adaptive ANC, as well as aptX Adaptive (rated for reduced latency during streaming and generally high-quality audio); aptX Voice; cVc Echo Cancellation and cVc Noise Suppression (for improved sound during calls).
Therefore, TWS earbud manufacturers may now be able to produce new mid-range offerings that support this new buzzword should they be based on one of these platforms. The QCC305x series is also designed for "superior" end-to-end connectivity with Snapdragon mobile processors, even the latest 888 flagship, which is rated for phone-side Bluetooth 5.2 and aptX.
