The Poco X2 is expected to be released very soon, and it has been stirring up considerable excitement with fans of the brand. Many of the details about the budget smartphone with a 120 Hz refresh rate have already started slipping out, and now it appears we may have one of the most important details: The price. According to a poster (see image below) obtained by Hindustan Times, the Poco X2 will cost ₹18,999 (~US$266).
Along with the price, the poster, which could have been faked, also features a few other details and renders of the front and rear of the Poco X2. Unsurprisingly, it looks identical to the Xiaomi Redmi K30, down to the pill-shaped right-hand corner selfie camera and the central circular rear camera housing. The poster mentions the 6.67-inch 120 Hz RealityFlow Display and the 64 MP Sony IMX686 Quad Camera Array: All for ₹18,999 (~US$266).
However, presuming the poster is genuine and not just a mocked-up image using a render of a Xiaomi Redmi K30, then the pricing seems a bit incongruous. It has been pointed out that the Redmi K30 was priced at roughly the equivalent of US$230 (₹16,450) for the 6 GB/64 GB model (same RAM/storage as the Poco X2) in the Chinese market, so why would the Poco X2 be priced conspicuously higher for the Indian market? We will soon know for sure, as the Poco X2 is scheduled to launch on February 4.
