Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has welcomed its latest acquisition, Housemarque, to its PlayStation Studios family. The Finnish company was behind the recent PS5 hit Returnal. An accidental leak by PlayStation Japan has apparently revealed that Bluepoint Games has also become a part of the SIE clan.

There are plenty of rumors concerning Microsoft’s Xbox Studios and its seemingly ever-growing list of acquisitions and targets, so it makes sense that Sony has also been eyeing up studios that would organically fit its already existing lineup as well. The latest to join the list is Housemarque, a Helsinki-based developer that worked on games like Returnal, Resogun, and Dead Nation.

Of course, it's a logical move for Sony to add Housemarque to its PlayStation Studios division, as the companies worked closely on Returnal for the PS5. But it seems the new addition to the list isn’t the only recent collaborator Sony has been considering; in fact, an alleged mistake by the Twitter account for PlayStation Japan (as shared by Nibel) points to SIE having already added another feather in its cap in the form of Bluepoint Games.

PS5 console owners will recognize the name behind the smash-hit remake Demon’s Souls, which was originally created for the PS3 by FromSoftware. Bluepoint has been actively involved in a number of remakes and remasters, including the God of War Collection and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. Apparently, a graphic welcoming Bluepoint to PlayStation Studios was posted by mistake, when it should have been Housemarque mentioned instead.
