Pixel 11a specs leaked: Tensor G6 chip and MediaTek modem

Google's Pixel 11 series is expected to launch on August 12, and, in typical Pixel fashion, its A-series successor is already showing up in leaks months ahead of any official reveal. A new post from the Mystic Leaks Telegram group offers our first look at the Pixel 11a's specs. The device is internally codenamed Formosan.

The leak lists three SKU variants: GQ05X for the rest of the world, GP1BL for Japan, and G4XQ2 for North America. Four colors are listed: Obsidian (black), Olive (green), Frost (purple), and Fog (silver).
New chipset and a MediaTek modem
The phone is said to pack Google's Tensor G6 chip (codename Malibu) alongside the Titan M3 security chip, a notable jump given that the Pixel 10a retained the older Tensor G4 rather than moving to the Tensor G5. The GPU is listed as a PowerVR C-Series unit (CXTP-48-1536), which has already been reported as part of the Tensor G6 platform. Another change concerns the modem: the leak points to a MediaTek M90, the same modem reportedly used across the Pixel 11 series, continuing the modem parity seen with the Pixel 10a.
The Pixel 11a is said to come with 8 GB of RAM and a 6.3-inch, 1,080 × 2,424 display running at 60–120 Hz, with brightness reaching up to 2,250 nits for HDR and a peak of 3,350 nits. The minimum battery capacity is listed as 4,870 mAh, down from the Pixel 10a's minimum of 5,000 mAh (5,100 mAh rated).
The leak also points to a new front-facing camera sensor, referred to only by the codename “dokkaebi.” Separately, the source claims Google has improved Face Unlock across the Pixel 11 series, describing it as faster, more secure, and better in low light. The source also floated “marmoset” as an early codename for the Pixel 12a.
