Philips has announced the 40B1U5601H, a counterpart to the 40B1U5600 that the company already sells. While both feature 40-inch displays, the Philips 40B1U5601H has a 5 MP webcam that can be used for video calls and biometric authentication via Windows Hello. The Philips 40B1U5600 has a brighter display than the Philips 40B1U5601H, though.

Philips has introduced the 40B1U5601H, a tweaked version of the 40B1U5600 that the company has been selling for the last month or so. In short, the 40B1U5601H adds a 5 MP webcam but at the expense of a dimmer panel. The pair share features in all other areas though, such as a pair of 5 W speakers.

At the heart of both monitors is a 40-inch IPS panel with W-LED backlights that outputs at 3,400 x 1,440 pixels in a 21:9 aspect ratio. Additionally, both displays offer 120 Hz refresh rates over DisplayPort and USB Type-C, but only 100 Hz when connected to a device via HDMI. Moreover, Philips claims that the 40B1U5601H matches the 40B1U5600's 1,200:1 contrast ratio and 4 ms GtG response times. However, while the 40B1U5600 offers 500 nits peak brightness and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, the 40B1U5601H manages a mere 300 nits.

Furthermore, Philips has equipped both monitors with single DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0 and USB Type-C ports, with the latter DisplayPort Alt Mode and 100 W Power Delivery capable. The 40B1U5601H features a USB Type-A hub like the 40B1U5600 too, as well as an RJ45 Ethernet connection. More details about both monitors can be found on Philips' product listings. The 40B1U5601H will be available later this month for £739.99; Philips is already selling the 40B1U5600 for £649.99.
