Palit confirms Galax isn’t shutting down: “business as usual” for GPUs

After some confusion earlier this week, when Galax Brazil stated in a now-deleted post that all customers should direct future RMA and warranty claims to Palit, news outlets reported that the Galax brand, which has been operating for thirty years, was exiting the GPU market, similar to EVGA. However, its parent company, Palit, has now confirmed that Galax will continue operating normally and will keep releasing new hardware.
Following an internal restructuring program, gamers and industry watchers speculated that Galax, known for its flagship Hall of Fame cards and other products, would be shutting down. In reality, Galax’s management will now operate under the direct control of Palit headquarters in Taiwan.
Both Galax and Palit have reiterated that the change is not about ending Galax’s enduring popularity or identity, but rather about improving corporate efficiency. Addressing the earlier confusion, Palit and Galax promptly clarified the situation.
Palit published its official statement on April 29, 2026, stating:
“GALAX is not ceasing operations. We remain fully committed to the development, production, and support of our high-performance hardware. The recent internal transitions are part of a pre-planned global initiative to integrate brand management for enhanced operational efficiency and cross-departmental synergy.”
Palit Group further explained that standard and flagship GALAX GPUs aren’t going anywhere either, stating, “Building upon the successful integration of internal operations between GALAX and Palit, the management of the ‘GALAX,’ ‘KFA2,’ and flagship ‘HOF’ brands is now being centralized at Palit Group headquarters.”
Galax chimed in that same day with its own official statement:
“Business as usual. GALAX is not stopping operations. We are continuing to develop, produce, and support our award-winning high-performance hardware. This is a long-standing partnership: Galax has been a proud member of the Palit Group since 2007.”
Palit has owned Galax since 2007. However, the Hong Kong-based graphics card brand has operated independently for years, accruing a loyal fan base of GPU owners thanks to its immaculately designed Hall of Fame graphics cards with high overclocking ceilings. This complements, rather than competes with Palit’s own GPU offerings that include Nvidia’s latest RTX 5000 series GPUs.
In addition to graphics cards - all of them Nvidia offerings - the brand also sells PSUs, mice and a few other PC components, as well as accessories.
