Deal | Steam expands its free games collection with new cross-genre additions

Steam adds new games every now and then, and alongside the paid titles, the platform's library sees many $0 additions. Of course, most of them fly under the radar, and some of these are actually worth trying.

@SteamGamesPC, for example, has spotted a handful of free games that were released on Steam in April 2026. While many of them don't have player ratings yet, a couple of them already have decent player receptions. Here are a few from the latest batch:

• The Cinder Pact - a co-op RPG with support for a 4-player party. It features a class system and a decent progression system. This free game became available on Steam on April 03, and it currently has a 95% positive rating.
• King's Lynn Leisure Farm - released on April 12, this farm idle game has colorful visuals and casual gameplay mechanics. It currently sports a 95% positive rating with over 60 reviews.
• Heavenly Guitars - a competitive music game with intuitive controls and support for PvP battles. It was released as a free game on Steam on April 06, and so far, it has received an 88% positive rating.
• 8-hour Workday - an anomaly search game that's inspired by hits like Exit 8 and Platform 8. This free game was released on April 11, and it now has over 40 reviews, of which 90% are positive.
• Annulus  - a dark fantasy tactical game with RPG elements. It was released on Steam on April 8 as a free game, and so far, it has garnered over 450 reviews, with 69% of them being positive.
• BRAINBUGS: The Game - a 2.5D exploration game with a rather deep storyline. This free game became available on April 10, and it currently features an 89% positive rating.
• Spire of Chaos : Arcana Unleashed - released on April 10, this is a 3D souls-lite game with action-heavy gameplay. It currently sports an 81% positive rating that's based on over 44 reviews.
• Battle Magi - a voice-driven PvP game where players need to attack by casting spells through voice input. This free game launched on Steam on April 01, and it currently has a 75% positive rating.
