A new eGPU produced by OneXPlayer is on the horizon. Dubbed the OneXGPU Lite, the eGPU combines a more compact design than prior models with Thunderbolt 5 connectivity to exhaust its AMD Radeon GPU.

One-Netbook has officially teased its latest external graphics card (eGPU) under its OneXPlayer brand on Chinese social media. Revealed the same week as the OneXPlayer X1 Air, the OneXGPU Lite appears to be a more compact upgrade on the original OneXGPU it released in late 2023, rather than the newer OneXGPU 2 (curr. $999.99 on Amazon).

To that end, the OneXGPU Lite retains the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT from the OneXGPU and other similar eGPUs. Based on AMD's RDNA 3 architecture, the Radeon RX 7600M XT features 32 Compute Units (CUs), 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and typically a 75 W to 120 W power consumption (TGP).

On the one hand, the OneXGPU Lite appears to be more compact than the OneXGPU, which measures 196 x 120 x 32 mm and weighs 869 g. Based on the video below, the OneXGPU Lite is also boxier than the OneXGPU and OneXGPU 2, albeit with a familiar RGB light matrix.

On the other hand, One-Netbook has swapped USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4 for Thunderbolt 5. Although the OneXGPU Lite will support these older standards too, Thunderbolt 5 should offer less performance loss than conventional USB 4 and Thunderbolt 4 eGPUs. Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain unknown for now.
