OnePlus 6 and 6T receive a fresh Android 10 beta update ahead of imminent release
A lot has happened with the Android 10 update for the OnePlus 6 and 6T since we reported at the beginning of the month that the company had pushed a stable update to both devices. Following several bugs reported by OnePlus Community members, the company announced on November 9 that it was working a new build that would address the issues that the original build had.
Subsequently, OnePlus then stated that it was waiting for Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) approval for its latest build from Google, after which it could start a "staged rollout". The company reported this on its forums on November 23, with fans still eager to try Android 10 on their devices. While OnePlus is yet to release a new stable build to the 6 and 6T, it published another update today:
Another batch of testing is going on, we'll keep you posted if there's any news on OnePlus 6/6T update.
OnePlus Community members have voiced their disquiet about the news, with some now predicting that the update will not arrive until Q1 2020. Unfortunately, it appears that the latest testing is a closed beta or internal, as the latest 6T Open Beta is dated September 13. Likewise, the most recent Open Beta for the OnePlus 6 was released on September 6. OnePlus is one of the better Android OEMs at updating its smartphones though, so we would not rule out seeing a new stable build of Android 10 hitting the 6 and 6T before the end of the year.
