The next instalment in the OnePlus flagship series, the OnePlus 15, is slated for an end of year launch. The phone is said to bring some significant changes and upgrades, specifically in the camera and battery department. Though OnePlus itself has not revealed too much about the phone, a lot of leaks and rumors have hinted at the specifications, and the latest sheds light on the color options and weight.
According to prolific leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus 15 will come in Original Sand Dune (titanium), Absolute Black (black), and Mist Purple (purple) colors. The Original Sand Dune color variant will be the lightest at 211 grams and the two other variants will come in at 215 grams each. There doesn’t seem to be a white color option this time around.
For comparison, the OnePlus 13 (buy on Amazon) comes in Black Eclipse (black), Arctic Dawn (white), and Midnight Ocean (dark blue) colors. The black and white variants weigh 213 grams while the dark blue variant weighs 210 grams.
With just 1 to 2 grams extra, which wouldn’t be perceivable, OnePlus has somehow managed to fit a 1,000 mAh larger battery in the OnePlus 15 compared to the OnePlus 13. The phone is said to carry a 7,000 mAh battery that can charge up to 120W. It was recently reported that the OnePlus 15 will cost significantly lower than its predecessor, which launched in the US at $900. This is because it has cut most of the costly components and adopted a performance-driven approach.
The company ended its five-year partnership with Hasselblad and is now using its own imaging engine for the OnePlus 15, which would have also helped in bringing the cost down. It shared camera samples recently, hinting that the phone features an 85 mm and f/2.8 telephoto camera, though it did not specifically mention the photos were taken from the OnePlus 15.
